Weddings are fabulous events that can easily take over a year to plan. But once the wedding cake is all eaten, the dance floor is cleared out and the tuxedos have been returned, what¡¯s next on the agenda for the new happy couple? If you said the honeymoon, then you¡¯re right. Some couples leave for their honeymoon immediately after the wedding, while others leave for their honeymoon the next day. Still others postpone their honeymoon for a few months or a few years to save some money. Whether your honeymoons is for two days or two weeks, it will be one of those romantic moments to treasure and document. 

If you have yet to go on your honeymoon, here are a few essential tips that will help you tremendously when you come back home and start to work on your honeymoon scrapbook. Take a journal and document all the little and big daily events of your honeymoon. You will want to read about all the special moments you had on your honeymoon, and, if you don¡¯t document them all, you can easily forget all the fun you had. Most couples are so excited to be on their honeymoon, often in an exotic location, that they use up all of their film taking pictures of the scenery, so don¡¯t forget to get as many photos of you and your spouse as a couple while on your honeymoon.

There are many different themes for a honeymoon scrapbook. You can base your theme on your honeymoon destination, for instance. For example, if you and your spouse went to Cancun or Hawaii on your honeymoon, you can instill a beach theme for your layout. You can use seashell or palm tree borders for a theme like this. If you collected actual sand from the beaches you visited, use some of it like glitter. For instance, create a title for one of your honeymoon pages and spell it out with glue. Immediately sprinkle sand on the glue (like glitter) and shake off the excess. That will be a special way to literally bring your honeymoon to your scrapbook pages.

Maybe you and your spouse went to Paris or Rome for your honeymoon. In this case, you can use a bistro theme or a romantic European theme. If you have wine while in Europe, peel off the labels from the bottles and keep them as souvenirs. You can paste them on your scrapbook page to create an instant rustic background. If your hotel or travel agent provided you with a map of the area where you honeymooned, glue this onto the scrapbook page to create a map-themed background. You can even circle the places you visited with a marker and post pictures of you and your spouse in those specific areas  right next to the circled areas. 

Instead of using the typical enhancements for your honeymoon scrapbook pages like store-bought stickers or die-cuts, why not use the different souvenirs you picked up along the way on your honeymoon. For example, you can paste airplane tickets, itineraries, museum or gallery admission tickets or postcards on different pages of your honeymoon scrapbook to give it a more personal theme.
