LIBRA THE SCALES (born September 24 to October 23): Libra is the only sign of the zodiac that is symbolized by an object, rather than something living. This is fitting, as Libra¡¯s quest for balance in their lives can sometimes make them forget that they are, indeed, human. They forget that are allowed to make mistakes. Imbalanced Libras will often fall to the side of the extreme, which will cause them great stress and unhappiness. The fulfilled, content Libra is the one who is able to find balance in his life.   

SCALES/RAT : Born in 1912, 1924, 1936, 1948, 1960, 1972, 1984, 1996. Under the Rat¡¯s influence, Libras have a difficult time saying no.  He will frequently over-extend himself and become very nervous and anxious if he cannot do every task, keep every promise, or fulfil every commitment. His friends and his loved one need to remind him to say ¡°no¡± once in a while, and need to avoid asking him for too many favors just because they know he will never turn them down. The weight of people¡¯s words can shift his views and he is easily swayed.

SCALES/OX: Born in 1913, 1925, 1937, 1949, 1961, 1973, 1985, 1997. The Scales/Ox can be oversensitive and hold grudges if his feelings are hurt, but he will rarely telling you what is bothering him. He is more likely to give you the cold shoulder than try to discuss his feelings. The Ox does not like to appear weak or vulnerable. Once he makes a decision he cannot be talked out of it. He holds fast to his world views and is not so easily swayed. He works hard for everything he has, and has a great deal of respect for others who work hard rather than for those who have things handed to them. 

SCALES/TIGER: Born in 1914, 1926, 1938, 1950, 1962, 1974, 1986, 1998. Tigers have huge egos, and Libras born in the year of the Tiger are no exception. He expects a great deal from himself, and will be highly disappointed if he is not able to reach the stars. With his natural energy and exuberance, he can sometimes set almost impossible goals, and push to hard to meet them. He loves life and wants to squeeze joy and excitement out of every minute of it. He often will expect as much from those he is very close to as he does of himself. He doesn¡¯t accept excuses and can be hard on people who don¡¯t live up to his expectations.   

SCALES/HARE: Born in 1915, 1927, 1939, 1951, 1963, 1975, 1987, 1999. The Hare often has a positive influence on the Scales in that he helps the Libra find the balance necessary for him to do well in life. He understands the importance of balance in all things¨C his time, his emotions, and his responsibilities both to himself and to others. He is friendly and very social, and usually attracts many friends and admirers. He is a good listener and a good advisor. He likes to be the host, and will enjoy having many gatherings and parties to surround himself with people. He is a gracious host indeed to his guests.  

SCALES/DRAGON: Born in 1916, 1928, 1940, 1952, 1964, 1976, 1988, 2000. The Scales born in the year of the Dragon is often seen as overbearing, but this is only because he has such a strong personality that he can fill a room with his presence. His strength and ability to persevere in the face of challenges may seem almost inhuman. He has a tendency to be superficial and totally lacking in sentiment, yet he is very honest with people and when he talks, he is sincere. He has a way of motivating people into taking action.

SCALES/SNAKE: Born in 1917, 1929, 1941, 1953, 1965, 1977, 1989, 2001. The Scales/Snakes is a person who is very sophisticated and enjoys the finer things in life. He is always learning, always reading to find answers. His life philosophy may change over time as he is highly influenced by different ideas and ways of thinking. As he reads he is easily influenced by the ideas presented and will likely change his perspective on different issues. He is drawn to people of power and social status, he likes to learn the secrets of their success so that he can live the high life. He will rarely get involved with anyone who doesn¡¯t bring something to the table that will help forward him in his journey.   

SCALES/HORSE: Born in 1918, 1930, 1942, 1954, 1966, 1978, 1990, 2002. The Horse¡¯s influence on the Scales causes him to be somewhat erratic. One day he will be there, the next he will be off on a new adventure. He leaves a string of unfinished tasks behind him, as once he is no longer interested in something he tends to drop it and move onto something else. He can¡¯t seem to make up his mind on what he wants to do in life, he is always redefining his goals or changing his direction. He has a hard time settling down and sticking to any single plan for long. Anyone thinking about getting involved with a Scales/Horse should be open to change and spontaneity.    

SCALES/SHEEP: Born in 1919,1931,1943, 1955, 1967, 1979, 1991, 2003. Scales/Sheep are compassionate individuals. Always the good samaritan, the Sheep influences the Scales to always over-extend himself to help others, even at the expense of his own plans and goals. He can be easily swayed by a persuasive speaker. He cannot stand conflict, and will always seek to be the peacemaker when others are arguing. He likes to see his friends happy, and, being a hopeless romantic, will often try to play matchmaker between friends and bring people together.

SCALES/MONKEY: Born in 1920, 1932, 1944, 1956, 1968, 1980, 1992, 2004. The Monkey can influence the Scales to be lazy and somewhat indifferent. He doesn¡¯t like to work hard or set goals, he prefers to go with the flow and cook up schemes to try and get things that he wants or needs with putting as little effort into it as possible. He likes to have a good time, usually runs in a large social circle. He is fun and charming and most people enjoy his company. If you are romantically involved with a Monkey you will see a lot of moonlight and roses, however he tends to shy away when you talk of settling down and responsibilities.  

SCALES/ROOSTER: Born in 1921, 1933, 1945, 1957, 1969, 1981, 1993, 2005. Few are quite so self-indulgent as the Scales/Rooster. He has a tendency to be gluttonous in all things that he enjoys, and will overdo even good things to the point that they are not good. Moderation is a concept that escapes him. He enjoys being the center of attention and likes to see other people enjoying themselves. He makes a very good host and a very giving partner as he encourages people to indulge in things they enjoy. With children he can be far too lenient, as discipline is not his strong point by any means. 

SCALES/DOG: Born in 1922, 1934, 1946, 1958, 1970, 1982, 1994, 2006. The Dog, like the Hare, is another good influence on the Scales in seeking the internal balance he needs. The Scales/Dog is hardworking yet playful. He is loyal, but does not let people take advantage of him. He has strength of character that shines through and makes him very popular. He is very sociable, but tends to run with a small circle of close friends that he has brought into his confidence. He¡¯s not one to offer advice easily, but when he does it is usually fraught with wisdom. He doesn¡¯t like dramatics and prefers people who are straight-forward and trustworthy.  

SCALES/BOAR: Born in 1923, 1935, 1947, 1959, 1971, 1983, 1995, 2007. The Boar influences the Scales to be somewhat wishy/washy with people. He hates to be firm and put his foot down and may let people take advantage of him to avoid saying no. He does not like to be in the middle of arguments and will usually be successful in soothing other people¡¯s tempers and bringing about peace and calm. He is very much in harmony with himself¨C he likes and accepts himself as he is, both the positive and the negative. This sense of self-acceptance gives him an inner peace, which gives him a calm and contented exterior.
