Supplies for Five Loop Chandelier Earrings:

Two French hook ear wires

Two five loop chandeliers

Ten head pins

Small beads of your choice (3 mm and smaller beads work well)

Wire cutter (or heavy-duty fingernail clippers)

Round nose pliers

1. Place one or more beads onto a head pin. The more beads you place on the head pin, the longer your earrings will be. A good starting quantity is three beads. You may use various sizes and colors of beads or use one uniform type of bead. The design is totally up to you!

2. Use your wire cutter or fingernail clippers to cut off the extra length of the head pin, leaving about a quarter of an inch at the end. 

3. Using your round nose pliers, bend the excess quarter of an inch of the head pin into a loop.

4. Hook the head pin loop onto the first chandelier loop and secure the two loops together.

5. Repeat this process for each of the five chandelier loops.

6. On the French hook ear wire, open the loop using your pliers and connect it to the top of the chandelier.

7. Close the French hook ear wire loop.

8. Repeat the above process for the matching earring.

The type of earrings you make completely depends on the type of supplies you begin with. For fancier earrings, you may use sterling silver findings (chandelier, head pins and ear wires) along with sterling silver beads, freshwater pearls or semi-precious stones. For less expensive earrings, you may use findings made of less expensive metals along with glass beads. For a more fun and eclectic look, you may choose to use all different colors of beads or very brightly colored beads. For an elegant look, all your beads may be a uniform color.

The example above uses a five-loop chandelier. You can find a wide variety of different chandeliers to begin your design. They come in an array of metals and patterns. Some chandeliers have only two loops and others may have six or seven. The more loops the chandeliers contain, the fuller your earrings will be.
