Easy, attractive Chocolate Valentine's Day MoussePosted Feb 8th 2007 3:01PM by Joanne Lutynec This one is for all those people who don't actually know how to bake, but are looking for a quick, easy, and relatively foolproof dessert idea for Valentine's Day. I am not much of a chocolate fan (I know, I know), but every now and then I have to have something sweet so I'll whip up a batch of chocolate mousse. Though I actually made the mousse shown in the picture from scratch, I'm going to recommend you buy a package of the powdered variety because this is more about assembly rather than actual ingredients. I'll get into a proper mousse recipe in a few days. Bake pre-made tart shells in the oven according to package directions. Once they are lightly golden, remove from oven and cool completely. Prepare chocolate mousse, again according to the instructions printed on the package. Spoon the mousse into each tart shell, or pipe it in using a pastry bag with the end snipped (no tip required). Refrigerate for as long as the package recommends. Just before serving, grate frozen chocolate over tarts and add a touch of whipped cream. To garnish I used a blackberry, mint leaves, and a touch of dark chocolate, but you can complete the dish with anything you happen to have on hand. |
