21. Why was Coke sold for $2.00 a case (24 cans) just three years ago and then coke pushes this 12 pack and quits the case sales. The 12 pack now cost $3.00 or 4.00 and they advertise a great sale at 4 12 packs for $10.00 We use to get (just three years ago) 5 cases or 10 12 packs for $10.00 and I don't understand why people are not complaining. It is more expensive than gasoline. Posted at 3:04PM on Sep 7th 2006 by Robert Maloney 22. I agree with you on the HEB brands, they are great and you really can't tell the difference. AS LONG AS WERE TALKING SODA'S.DOES ANYONE KNOW IF Posted at 3:07PM on Sep 7th 2006 by rollin r.robinson 25. I think Shasta's Fruit Punch soda is the best of all time. They often package it according to the season or holiday. At 99 cents for one of those bottles that are bigger than a two-liter you can't go wrong!! Posted at 3:09PM on Sep 7th 2006 by CeCe B 26. I like Wal-Mart sodas. I've tried quite a few since I've lived all over and they're the best for the price and availability. Posted at 3:09PM on Sep 7th 2006 by Cindy 27. When I was in college, we were always looking for ways to save money. There was a grocery store across from our apartment complex called Bi-Lo and they had some pretty tasty store brand soda. I was never one to like funky flavors before but we were realy impressed with the Strawberry Kiwi flavor. For years I have purchased the Walmart/Sam's brand drinks - usually bring home the diet caffeine free Colas. Quite a savings at fifty eight cents for a two liter, and that is up eight cents from last year. Posted at 3:10PM on Sep 7th 2006 by Susan 30. Sam's Diet Cola (Walmart)is cheap and very tasty as with all Sam's products and they're made here in the U.S. Posted at 3:11PM on Sep 7th 2006 by Donna 31. I love Stop&Shop or Shaw's sodas. They are the best, they usually have specials like 3 12 packs for $5.99. Posted at 3:11PM on Sep 7th 2006 by BrocktonGirl 32. NEHI Soda Posted at 3:12PM on Sep 7th 2006 by CeCe B 33. HEB (Texas)coke brand are excellent. I can't tell the difference between the Coca-Cola and their store brand. Posted at 3:12PM on Sep 7th 2006 by Don 34. I must be in the minority here, because I have always thought Dr Pepper tasted like prune juice, so it's not a flavor I look for. I am also diabetic, so I must stick with sugar-free soda. I live in Upstate NY and have not found a store-brand diet cola I really like, although the Wal-mart & Adirondack (Waist Watcher)brands are not bad. Most store-brand & minor brand diet sodas in other flavors tast fine to me. I usually buy 2-liter bottles to save on deposits, and you can usually buy Diet Pepsi or Diet Coke on sale for around 99 cents a bottle, which is not much more than the store brand. In those cases, I buy the major brand because it is not that much more. Also, I like the flavored colas like vanilla & cherry, and they are not usually available in diet in the store brands. I'm always scouting for new sodas, though! Posted at 3:17PM on Sep 7th 2006 by Pam 35. Stop & Shop's "Main Street" Root Beer is very good and comes in "half-sized" cans. Posted at 3:17PM on Sep 7th 2006 by Lynn 36. Stay away from the Dr. Wino brand. Carbonated Thunderbird just isn't that great !! Posted at 3:17PM on Sep 7th 2006 by G.K. 37. Don't ever buy a soda that has brominated vegetable oil in it! I bought some from the dollar store and it tasted terrable. But that isn't the worst part. I looked up how brominated vegetable oil is made. Then i looked up bromine. Turns out the stuff "deteriorates human tissue when injested"!Yum! Posted at 3:18PM on Sep 7th 2006 by Gloria 38. I started buying Clover Valley soda at Dollar General about a year ago. The regular soda tastes a bit watered down, but the diet soda is good and the root beer is excellent. The great thing is that they're made with sucralose (Splenda). Posted at 3:20PM on Sep 7th 2006 by Krista G 39. I was totally hooked on Pepsi. Posted at 3:22PM on Sep 7th 2006 by Suzi Wilson 40.
