To the person who writes about it being tragic that ants are being used as food, maybe you need to do more research. First off, i understand certain slaughter houses use unnecessary force when dealing with animals but its life. why isn't it inhumane when another animal kills others animals to live. It's life and its how the world works. Chocolate covered ants sounds nasty but to each its own!! 25. ANYBODY NEEDS FREE ANTS FOR THEIR DESSERT, I GOT A TREE OUT BACK LOADED WITH THEM. 26. I have news for you Dr. Cerny...vegetarians are killers too. My college biologist teacher made a very good point...vegetarians have absolutely no right to condemn us meat eaters because plants are very much "alive." When they are plucked from a tree or whatever they may grow off of, you are slowly but surely dehydrating them and cutting off their source of nutrients. They're alive, they grow, and you kill them...so what's the difference? Think about it! 27. Dr. Cerny - You must be kidding - they are ants for goodness sake. There are literally gazillions of them. People have been eating insects for thousands of years - Bon appetite! 28. actually ants and some incects are a cheap means of protein and may some day they may even end up on our plate in parts around the world they do eat incects what some don,t know is they eat half a ton of them every day the red in your fruit juice is actually cochnile beetles crushed up have fun 29. to Dr.Vegetarian....keep your veggies...we southerners know how to eat meat and how to prepare...we also haven't lost our perspective on where animals are in the food chain!! 30. You guys are all a bunch of pussys.....Humans and many other animals have been eating ants and other insects for MILLIONS of years. I eat ants at cook-outs all the time to freak out the children. They actually don't taste bad at all. You guys need to grow a pair. 32. My son was 5 and very curious--he tells me now 15yrs later that he ate black ants outside-while playing by himself,,,he say's that they tasted like lemons...so I do beleive the sour patch comment...I would eat them if I had to-probably before eating a worm or other bug..... 36. I don't even think if it was a put in front of me next to 50,000.00 I would be able to do it simply because I hate ants that much. You eat them, I'll cook emmmm....Eat all the ants ya want as long as they stay away from my house. 38. I had worms dipped in strawberry juice in france and they taste so much better than ants. As Timon and Pumba always say, they're slimy, but satisfying. 39. The reason why it doesn't matter if animals eat other animals is because they are not human therefore there is no way possible that they can be humane in the first place so in turn they cannot be inhumane. People are much more intelligent and civilized and should know that its wrong to eat other creatures. 40. Oh and there is a difference between eating other animals and eating plants. PLANTS DO NOT HAVE A NERVOUS SYSTEM SO THEY CANNOT FEEL PAIN. Thats a lot different than an animal that is being tortured before death. |
