Listen to ice cream truck musicPosted Jul 24th 2007 7:46PM by Sarah J. Gim If there's a sound that brings back memories of my childhood summers, it's the sound of ...nothing. When I was little, the only thing I did was study to get ahead of the other kids when we started school in the fall, so the only sounds I heard in the summer was light tapping on the keyboard of my Apple 2e (or something). Oh alright. The music that came from ice cream trucks is also a quintessential sound of summer, especially for Michael Hearst, who just released his self-explanatory new solo release, Songs for Ice Cream Trucks. The music was recorded specifically for ice cream trucks -- the high pitched chimes, and sounds from slightly more bizarre instruments. |
