21. "does anybody really like candy corn" - yes, but only if it is really fresh and soft. Otherwise you can taste the waxy coating. 22. What about those disgusting chewy candies that come in the orange and black wrappers? Kind of peanut buttery tasting, but not good...ew! 23. Juice boxes are great, what kid would not love to have something to drink after all that walking, I know my kids love them. We have a man in the neighborhood who hands out freezy pops every year, and the kids know it so they run to his house. 24. I love candy corn!!! I always looked forward to those in my bag. As for smarties, I love those too. 25. hey ppl...........nething chocolate goes..... i also give out pamphlets tellin how God sent His only son to die & pay for the sin of all man(& woman )kind. We live in an aparment building in NYC and will be having a party for the little kids rather than Trick-or-Treating, so homemade is where it's at. I'll be doing the Monster Creep-cakes! 27. King sized versions? Who the heck can afford 50 cents per candy bar? The little ones are best, you can eat a bunch of them and never repeat. 28. I agree my 3 year old son hates smarties, as do my older children 15,19, and 21, my husband who is 49 is the one that likes them. my kids also hate mary janes (peanut butter rocks) 29. When I was a kid there was a dentist in town who gave out toothbrushes for halloween, who want a toothbrush for halloween? 33. Last year I gave out a variety of candy bars and Tootsie Pops - each kid was given a candy bar of choice and a Tootsie Pop -- One young boy approached the front porch with the usual, Trick or Treat and after I gave him his candy bar and Tootsie Pop, he reached in his bag, grabbed the Tootsie Pop and gave it back to me, informing me that he didn't like those. I was shocked, and for a brief moment considered beaning him in the head with the Tootsie Pop as he walked away. HAPPY HALLOWEEN. 34. another smartee lover and i also sort by color 35. Two candies I HATED receiving as a kid...Candy Corns and those big orange peanut shaped marshmallow candies (don't know what they are called!). Do kids eat these today??? Smarties are not so bad - but you get so MANY of them! 36. Well let's not forget the house of the local dentist who always gave out toothbrushes. Seems like he would want us to eat candy and rot our teeth so he would get more business. LOL 37. I, personally, am a FIEND for Candy corn....the traditional orange/white/yellow one's are yummy enough but I go balistic when I get the chocolate ones!! Smarties rock, btw ;) 38. This year we are giving out microwave popcorn and Play-doh. I am the world's biggest play-doh fan and think every kid should have some even if their moms won't buy it!!! 39. Too bad it has gotten to the point that only wrapped candy can be given. I remeber Trick or Treating in South Louisiana in the 70's and it was safe enough then to take freshly baked cookies, and candy apples, which I loved, from people you did not know. 40. My mother-in-law gives out those disgusting black and orange peanut butter candies every year........gross! |
