Her arms were filled with sour cream and onion potato chips and Flamin' Hot Cheetos, he was in search in Spam musubi (rice balls). Both pretended not to see each other and walked out with their respective junk food. On the craigslist food forum, fellow food lovers have been known to discuss their love of Velveeta-based macaroni and cheese, deep-fried Snickers bars, Tahitian Treat soda, and Underwood deviled ham, often "going anon" to make their potentially embarrassing confessions. (Speaking of deep-frying, according to my sister, line cooks will eat anything deep-fried from battered Oreos to hot dogs.) A foodie's life can't always be champagne and caviar, right? Don't we all have secret trash food cravings that we don't want our friends to know about? Even my mother, who is a member of the Chaine de Rotisseurs (and who raised us to appreciate locally grown, organic ingredients and "slow food" before it became a trendy movement) loves a store-bought gelatin salad. Me? About twice a year, I swing by a certain fast-food restaurant and buy two tacos for 99 cents. There is almost no better way to spend a dollar. (Okay, there is.) How about you? Come on fellow food lovers, 'fess up! What bad-for-you foods do you eat when no one is looking? (Feel free to change your name if you don't want your friends to know your secret!)
