Soup MashupsPosted Oct 19th 2005 11:06AM by Deidre Woollard We covered flavor mashups last week but here's another entry into the mashup category. When I was growing up my mother used to mix together Campbell's Tomato soup with Split Pea to create a strange brown soup that I was never a big fan of. Tonight though, I had several different Progresso soups and decided to toss them all into the pot. One was a chicken noodle, one was a chicken with rice and the wild card was the Tuscan-style meatball soup. The end result was a soup with everything. The meatball got a bit overshadowed by the heavy chicken and the whole thing was a bit sodium-heavy but still a welcome warmer in suddenly chilly Los Angeles. |
