Christopher Walken in the KitchenPosted Jul 30th 2007 11:01AM by Marisa McClellan This is some of the best food TV I've seen recently (the player is embedded after the jump). It's a nicely edited clip of Christopher Walken preparing roasted chicken and pears. He shares cooking tips, shows off his upright roaster and seems totally and completely comfortable in the kitchen. Clocking in at just more than three minutes long, it is a good example of how little preparation is needed to make a good meal, even one fit for a star. [Via Metafilter] |

He can be so credibly scary, yet sing and dance beautifully. And his hilarious skits on Saturday Night Live are some of the very best. Can't really think of anyone else who is as good in so many areas as he is. And mama mia he cooks, too! Posted at 3:49PM on Aug 4th 2007 by Heilita 24. I love Christer Walken, he is so comical just using words in a certain way, he's a great actor, and he seems to fit each role down to a tee. I would not imagine him in the kitchen, but he does look comfortable cooking. Way to go Mr. Walken!!!!! Posted at 3:49PM on Aug 4th 2007 by robin 25. How disgusting, chicken is not even cooked. When I roast a chicken I cook it at least 2 hours. And when I'm cooking with chicken or raw meat, always always wash wash your hands. I think I will pass up mr. Walkens chicken receipe, doesn't look to appitizing. Posted at 3:50PM on Aug 4th 2007 by karen 26. Loved watching Chris have a regular guy moment! Thanks for sharing that link...it was funny! RAW CHICKEN, ESPECIALLY, CAN EASILY CONTAMINATE ANYTHING ELSE WITH IT COMES INTO CONTACT. MAKES ME CRINGE, JUST WATCHING HIM SPREADING GERMS ALL OVER THE PLACE -- SALT & PEPPER CONTAINERS, ETC. I bet you're Mama didn't wash her hands at every step when cooking, and yet, here you are. Great though for those corporations who sell to and have made you all germophobic. Pity..when the next big epidemic comes along, and it will, you'll be the first to go with no exposure to or defence against "germs". Posted at 4:09PM on Aug 4th 2007 by Sandy 29. How funny it would have been if he had cooked beef and had a heifer walk in the kitchen with a bell around her neck. Posted at 4:27PM on Aug 4th 2007 by julie 32. Just seeing Christopher walker cooking was great. So down to earth. Looks like a great dish. Why does the kitchen look so small.? Isn't he rich? Posted at 4:28PM on Aug 4th 2007 by dina 33. Chris Walken may be a very good cook, but I still don't see how a whole chicken can be thoroughly cooked in 1 hour. And I don't like raw chicken. Needs more cowbell!!! Posted at 5:19PM on Aug 4th 2007 by Gurugirl 36. I find Mr Walken a very entertaining and deep individual. The chicken and pears looked very appetizing. I think the Food Channel would be wise to do a show with celebrities preparing a favorite dish. Perhaps the next time Christopher hosts Saturday Night Live he could be preparing food in the skit, The Continental or when he is portraying Colonel Lingus. :-) Posted at 5:24PM on Aug 4th 2007 by Bob Welch 37. It seems that you have never cooked a chicken before, Mr. Rath. You're comments sound, well, uninformed. Didn't anyone get the joke? This is not about the chicken recipe...it's about the cat about to help itself to this prize! Chris, we used to tap together at Charlie Lowe's Posted at 5:48PM on Aug 4th 2007 by Jake 38. Aww.... Hey, I really enjoyed watching Chris at his best.. Natural and happy as a chef at home. (I'm sure he washed his hands prior to preparing this chicken... Lighten up guys) Way to go Chris!!!!
