21. To each his own, but for me, it's Splenda. I prefer it over the other sweetners. I will use Equal if Splenda is not available. I try to stay away from sugar because of the calories. So I stopped it and 3 days later obtained 90% of my memory back. A few years later I used Splenda because that was supposed to be natural. After about a year the same memory loss started again. So I cut it out of my diet. (loved it) and memory came back. Then I switched to sweet and low and after a few weeks same thing. I have now switched to Stevia and I pray that works for me. It alarms me that people do no understand how dangerous this stuff is and some are even feeding it to their kids. It works like formaldehyde in your brain. There are some web sites avaliable that expose the dangers of the stuff. Migranes, tumors, memory. Cancer is nothing compared to these. ADD kids who have mood swings can be affected. Like in agression and depression. Check it out and be warned it is like poison. Slow acting and that is why we don't always notice it. Posted at 1:01PM on Apr 7th 2006 by Judy Brandon 23. I will use Equal or Splenda.. but most of the time it is Equal that wins out, simply because more people have it. Also, Splenda gives coffee and hot tea a very odd aftertaste. Another thing... Since stopping splenda, nutrasweet and the like some ugly health problems have disappeared. Read the book "Excitotoxins The taste that kills" and make your own decisions. Stevia can be found with dietary supplements in the health food store. Not allowed to call it a sweetener because of FDA. Posted at 6:20AM on Apr 10th 2006 by JP Mallory 25. I have used equal for over 10 years and nothing else. No sugar for me except in EXTREME emergency.I prefer it to anything. The taste is great with no bitter aftertaste. I cannot handle anything with splenda in it. like the lemon water sweetened with splenda. It just makes me shake inside. Splenda is the only artificial sweetner that is derived from natural sugar. It also has no aftertaste. The only problem is that many merchants fail to carry this so I carry several packets with me at all times. It's the only artificial sweetener that has no aftertaste, as far as we are concerned. Posted at 8:12AM on Apr 10th 2006 by Karl H. Rahn 36. Saccarine is back. While it was off the market we had it shipped in from overseas. It's available again, cheap but somewhat hard to find. I guess the profit margin is not high enough. It's the only one that does not have an aftertaste, as far as this household is concerned. Posted at 8:17AM on Apr 10th 2006 by Brigitte Rahn 37. I used to be a sugar junkie when it came to drinks. I could easily consume a whole 2 liter soda by myself each day. I decided to stop with the soda because of it being so bad for you. I began drinking iced tea and discovered Splenda! I never thought they would make a sweetner that tastes justlike sugar! I don't drink much iced tea anymore (I have a cup of hot tea everyday with honey) and drink water the rest of the day. Try adding a pack of Splenda with a touch of fresh lemon to your water! It's like a glass of frest squeezed lemonade! Splenda is great for baking and cooking too!!! YUM Posted at 8:23AM on Apr 10th 2006 by Karen 38. my primary use of sweetners Sweet and Low because of the price, but use splenda for cooking. i am a diabetic.
