21. My cat Hecubus (RIP) loved canned water chestnuts. He was wacky for them. Posted at 5:08PM on Oct 18th 2006 by Alice 22. We have 3 cats here at our large home but the kitten, solid black Figaro, seems to be the BIGGEST glutton I have EVER seen in a cat... Posted at 5:43PM on Oct 18th 2006 by Beth 23. My parents had a dalmatian when I was just a baby that has been rumoured to be part goat. Shiloh would eat just about anything... the stories I remember the most include: whole sticks of butter, spaghetti, grapes (where he'd spit the seeds out afterwards), bananas (pushing on one end until it came out of the peel), and a few non-edible items: half a beer can and a hole through the wooden cellar door. Strange dog, but he'd also stand up, looking in on me in the crib for hours on end. :) Posted at 6:15PM on Oct 18th 2006 by Kristen 24. The cat (Rachel, RIP) loved onions. She didn't care if they were fried, stewed, or made into onion rings. On more then one occasion we'd sit down at the dinner table and a little black paw would reach up and try and pull a plate of vegetable stew off the table. Any tea, Earl Grey, Tetley, Cranberry you name it! She will hook it out of the cup, "stalk" it, hone in for the kill, mame and taunt ripping the bag to bits, then enjoy her herbal prey until the granules are everywhere! Drives us all crazy! She is very verbal and when she hears the kettle, the crying and pleading is almost unbearable. We have tried to share and give her a fresh pouch, but only after it's used, does she deem it worthy of the kill. What a nut. Posted at 6:43PM on Oct 18th 2006 by Whisper 26. Apart from the obvious meat-, cheese- and milk-related foods, my cat LOVES: Posted at 6:58PM on Oct 18th 2006 by Steve Barron 27. At present we have one lab who will eat anything it can get to (including canned green beans even though he may have to chew the can open!) and three cats who eat conventional cat food. But we once had a pair of cats (littermates) who were nutz about fruits and veggies. Posted at 7:17PM on Oct 18th 2006 by rainey 28. My cat, Oompa, loves bananas, canned peaches (well, anything peach), cucumbers and apples. My boyfriend lets him lick the apple core after he gets done eating it, and he just goes to town! Bananas don't enter the house - just the smell of them ripening makes him crazy. God forbid you should sit down and try to eat the banana - he'll find a way to get to you and will maul you if you don't give him any (and that's a dangerous situation - he's 20 lbs). Same way with the peaches - when he hears the can opener he comes a-runnin'! Posted at 7:37PM on Oct 18th 2006 by Jackie 29. My cat Chocolate-point Siamese loves pepperoni (done leave your pizza hear him, he'll come lick it off, then rub it on the carpet, and lick it some more he makes quite the production of it), ice cream (or anything made with ice cream), whipping cream, butter and orange juice. He's also got a weak spot for frappachino. Posted at 8:29PM on Oct 18th 2006 by Kindli 30. One of my cats loves marshmallows as well. He will beg for mashed potatoes, circus peanuts, icing, and macaroni salad. He will snatch bacon and doritos out of your hand if he thinks that you are taking too long getting it from serving vessel to mouth. Also eats dog food occasionally, but only if he thinks that he's missing out. If you can't find him right away, all you have to do is rustle a bag of chips and he is immediatly on your lap. Before the mutt came along the collie only infractions concerned bedroom slippers. Posted at 9:37PM on Oct 18th 2006 by Ann 32. Oh, my cat almost never eats anything people food. Sometimes she'll act like she wants some, but all she does is lick it a couple times and leaves it alone. I've even given her a large lump of tasty rotisserie chicken and she turned her nose up at it! She does eat birds though, as I discovered to my dismay one morning. Posted at 10:05PM on Oct 18th 2006 by Syrra 33. Some cats I've had loved any sort of meat, table scraps, butter, cheese, milk, maple syrup, carrots, and reddi whip. Others wouldn't touch "people food" with a ten foot pole. Posted at 10:52PM on Oct 18th 2006 by Sera 34. Our cat eats tofu. I'm not saying she goes mad for it (like she does bread or cake) but she will eat it! Posted at 3:16AM on Oct 19th 2006 by rgh 35. i had a kitten (we had to give her away because she was too agressive) but the only funny food thing i remember is: one time i was sitting on the couch, and i had a blue raspberry push pop. she was licking like crazy! Posted at 4:07AM on Oct 19th 2006 by Darcy 36. I have a cat that absolutely loves gummi bears. In particular she likes some gummi sharks that I get for a dollar at Price Chopper. She will lick them until there is nothing left and then beg for some more. Posted at 6:21AM on Oct 19th 2006 by clmbabe 37. my munchkin cat Oliver loves any kind of chips, prefers the white corn ones from publix. My Polydactl Mazzy will steal a whole steak right off your plate if you dont watch him, and if we are eating chicken wings you can hear him purr from across the room. Of course we dont let him have any, the bones are too brittle, he also lives for Ham, and will say "ham" if we hold up a piece. My other cat gypsy, doesnt even know human food exists. Posted at 10:07AM on Oct 19th 2006 by laura 38. Our kitties (two of three, anyway) enjoy "people food," and they'll get little bits as occasional treats. Our tortie, Jezebel, especially loves creamy sauces and dairy products (yogurt, butter, cheese, even mayonnaise), while our 17-year old Benny loves bites of beef, chicken, or salmon. Oddly, our other cat Snoë (who tips the scales at 15 pounds) has no interest in human dishes whatsoever - she's strictly a cat food gal. Posted at 12:08PM on Oct 19th 2006 by Lenka 39. Made Coq au Vin the other night - gave a piece or two of the cooked salt pork to the cat who got so exicted we honestly considered he had become briefly possessed! Ears went back, eyes turned huge and black and he did 3 or 4 back-flips!! He's so people-food crazed now we have to keep him away from the kitchen at all times, now. Posted at 12:29PM on Oct 19th 2006 by Jennie 40. my cats are obsessed with lettuce! as soon as the salad spinner comes out i'll hear running and suddenly have two sweet little faces staring me down. and my girl cat, oh boy does she ever love tortilla chips (after i lick off the salt) if one even gets near my lips she'll be at my shoulder begging for it.
