The 920 calorie breakfast burrito

Posted Oct 15th 2007 7:40PM by Marisa McClellanFiled under: Breakfast, New Products, Health & Medical

What has 920 calories, 60 grams of fat and is designed to "really fill you up?" That would be Hardee's newest addition to their breakfast menu, the Country Breakfast Burrito. One flour tortilla contains two eggs, crumbled sausage, diced ham, bacon bits, shredded cheddar, 5 hashrounds and a big ladleful of sausage gravy. Poking around in Hardee's nutrition calculator reveals that many of their other breakfast items are nearly as nutritionally treacherous (the Monster Biscuit clocks in at 790 calories and 57 grams of fat). And just to confirm that we like our calories cheap and empty, this breakfast burrito is widely available for just $2.69. (For those of you without a Hardee's in your vicinity, it's basically the same thing as Carl's Jr. Oddly though, the comparable breakfast burrito on the Carl's Jr. menu has just 820 calories and 53 grams of fat. I guess they figured folks out west would want a slightly lighter version).

23. This doesn't sound TOO bad. Only thing is: eat only 1 per week....and for the rest of the day, drink water and eat raw carrots and celery.

24. Hopefully i won't be able to consume the whole thing at one sitting if i were to try it. The guilt would make me feel fat.

25. Hopefully, if i tried it, i wouldn't be able to consume it all in one sitting or the guilt alone would make me feel fat.

26. Well it is today's world bad to eat like that. But the way they filled their face then is sort of the same as it is now. Go to any pancake house Or Mom and pop Egg and Bacon Joint in the the U.S.
And those out there that said (the first meal of the day is your most inportent meal, are probably eating
Egg's Bacon strips, and Hash brown's-bread with butter and jam right now.
It would seen that unless your eating grass like a cow. Every thing is bad for you.
P.S. we as a dominataing World ruler did not get this way by eating seed,And as you must know the brains of the world know this, and can prove it.
And are now having the first meal of the day filled with Sausage and white gravy.

28. MMMMM That looks good, there was a time when that would have been a good and healthy breakfast, needed for an honest and hard days work, but since the automobile came around nobody seems to be able to get up out of their seat or off their a_ _ and do some real work. How about we start to look for honest hard working food and people and stop looking for the quick fix.

31. Some people can handle 920 calories, generally on account of strenous physical exercise or they are blessed with good metabolism. However in the long run, greasy, fat choked food will take its toll on the body by way of choked arteries, high blood cholesterol and blodo pressure.
It never hurts to start eating healthy early.
Try pure herbal supplements for healthy metabolism and weight control

34. HAVING A FAT ZONE TACO BELL ON EVERY CORNER ISN'T ENOUGH, NOW WE HAVE HARDEES'S AND CARL JR. TO ALSO GREASE THE PITS. WHEN I THINK OF PUTTING THAT GARBAGE IN MY MOUTH I GAG.

35. Ohh...it's making me hungry. I don't see any problem with eating fatty food, and I'm actually glad that it's available when I want it. Then again, I have a rare disorder that makes it hard for my body to store calories as fat. It all ends up getting dumped. (Even after 12 hours of fasting my u.a. is at a +5 for sugars. I'm not diabetic. I've been tested many times.) When I was younger I would eat shortening by the spoon full because I was craving fat. I grew out of that. Now I just put loads of butter on everything. I had a balanced diet too. At meal/snack times I loaded up with fruits, veggies, grains, and hearty meats. I also drank 16 gallons of whole milk each month. I'm 5'8¡± and could never get my weight over 130 lbs. (If you think that's bad, you should see my sister. She's 5'5¡± and can't get over 105 lbs) Doesn't matter how much I eat, I just don't gain weight. I was often asked if I was anorexic. Still, it's the cholesterol I want to know about. My disorder doesn't help dump that, and with as much as I eat, I really have to look out for it. I have a family history of high blood presure.

37. Who is to blame if you are over weight.....YOU are, stop making peoples personal problems the rest of the world fault.....I don't think obese people are force fed.....If more people would take responsiblity for there actions instead of blaming it on others the world would be a much better place....

38. I can't believe a breakfast item would have over half the calories that an average person (on a 2000 calorie-per-day diet). I don't even eat 2000 calories a day, so this breakfast is very calorie dense with little nutritional value for me. are Hardee's and Carl's Jr. trying to promote obesity? I'm so glad I don't have either of those restaurants in my neighborhood.

39. 900+ calories! Hardee's should be ashamed of themselves to come up with the triple by-pass breakfast all wrapped up and ready to go.
