Dr. BBQ's "Barbecue All Year Long!" Cookbook, Cookbook of the DayPosted Jan 18th 2007 8:03AM by Nicole Weston Sarah mentioned that the LA Times talked about grilling this week as though summer were just around the corner (hopefully it is and we can get out of this cold snap!). You don't have to wait for summer to fire up the grill, though. After all, they burn pretty hot, which will keep you warm while you're working, right? Dr. BBQ's "Barbecue All Year Long!" Cookbook drives this point home by providing a number of recipes that are season-centric and intended to get you back to the grill after Labor Day. The book is arranged by season and each one provides the reader with a number of suitable menus for the holidays and events of that season. For example, Winter includes New Year's, Christmas, Super Bowl and Valentine's Day, and it starts of with a brief discussion of how cooking during the winter might be a bit different than cooking in the summer - aside from the fact that you might need a jacket or boots when heading out to the grill. The recipes include drinks, main dishes, sides, appetizers and desserts, such as Dr. BBQ's Barbecued Barbecue Shrimp, Grilled Vegetable Soup, Pulled Pork Sandwiches with Red Slaw, the Best Corn on the Cob, and White Chocolate Chili Ancho Ice Cream. |
