21. Mmmm! Lobster is GOOD! One way that you can prepare lobster is by throwing a shot of high proof liquor in the lobsters face. It basically gets them drunk through their membranes, and it keeps the tail from curling so much in the water. The end result...not so chewy tail! I swear I've done this a hundred times, and lobster just tastes better this way! 22. Thats a beautiful critter....hope they eat all the red ones first...neat info 23. Different colored lobsters are cool to look at. I think they should be placed in a hatchery to enable the creation of more of that type. As far as cruel cooking practices, I suppose it might seem cruel, but it really isn't. The lobster could be frozen first before cooking, but it might not be the same. People would always find something that seems cruel. Would freezing a lobster first be cruel? Hot steaming water used to cook a lobster is actually a quick way of dispacthing a lobster. Think about it, how long would anything live in water/steam that's a few hundred degrees? People would complain about freshness/sanitation if we allowed the lobster to die first. 26. I remember a few years back when I walked through a laboratory in Montauk NY where the gentleman working with lobsters was trying to raise blue lobsters by cross breeding ones with dominant genes 27. Lobsters don't scream,no vacal cords.They die almost as soon as they hit the boiling water.Not fifteen minutes . You only cook them for twenty minutes tops. 32. On the Big Isle of Hawaii there is a lobster farm on the Kona coast that 'farms' blue lobster. Have had big pots full and they are yummy! 37. Did you know even vegetables have a level of life and that is why we should eat them fresh? So where do you draw the line? I do not care for Lobster and I do not believe in unnecessary suffering for any creature but remember when you eat your next vegetable that you have taken another form of life to sustain your own. Lobster is my favorite,but living in the midwest now I don't really get the chance to have it much. It seems like lobsters used to be much bigger than they are now....anyway...we are at the top of the food chain and are omnivorous which mean we are "meant"to eat veg and meat, poultry wild game and creatures of the sea. I certainly couldnt myself hunt or kill animals that I plan to eat but I have no issues eating them...the exception is seafood I dont feel guilty catching them and eating them not at all....people are a little looney if they think its cruel to have food to eat that is enjoyable....sorry I want to eat food not just exist on what food eats. |
