Blueberry burgersPosted Aug 31st 2005 5:27PM by Nick Vagnoni Photo: Nick Vagnoni I’m generally skeptical of recipes created first and foremost for health, but I think the combination of blueberries and beef could be pretty tasty. I’m sure I’ve seen blueberry and lamb sausages in a butcher case before. Linda Dannenberg, author of the True Blueberry cookbook, apparently got the idea to add ground, freeze-dried blueberries to burgers from University of Maine researchers seeking to enrich meat products like ground beef and chicken. Today's St. Pete Time's has her recipe. About.com had a mention of this a while back as well. If ever I get around to trying this I’ll be sure to post the results. If anyone out there has already tried it, by all means, share your opinions. |
