Not just zero calories, but negative calories with EnvigaPosted Oct 16th 2006 2:25PM by Sarah J. Gim With soda to blame as one of the contributing factors to the nation's obesity problem, maybe you have vowed to ignore the nasty aftertaste of artificial sweeteners in diet sodas. Diet soda has zero calories, right? Well, now you might be able to go one step further with a new drink from Coca-Cola that actually helps you burn calories. Enviga is a sparkling green tea that supposedly steps up your metabolism because it contains caffeine, calcium and most importantly, "naturally active plant micronutrients that allegedly increase the body's rate of calorie burning." Does it sound too good to be true? I doubt that you could realistically expect to lose 10 pounds by just sitting on the couch drinking Enviga all day. The article also says that it increases the calorie-burning rate in "healthy people with a lean-to-normal body type," which means for it to work, you already have to be healthy and lean. So do healthy, lean people even need this drink? It wouldn't hurt to try it. A poll (on the article) shows that a hefty majority (pun absolutely intended!) will try it when it hits stores in November. It's no secret that caffeine will amp you up, so you'll certainly have more energy to move around -- and moving around sure burns calories. |

Water, water everywhere and we choose artificial sources of nutrients. Buy green tea and brew it with "water." Then, excersise and make healthy food choices. You will lose weight and feel great. I do not believe this product will be available 1 year from now. Posted at 4:34PM on Oct 17th 2006 by Mike Tobin 25. I agree the only way you can lose weight is to exercise and stay away from fast foods, sweets, ect. Also drink plenty of water and Green Tea is very good for you. CANT WAIT TO FIND IT , AROUND THE SOUTHERN PART OF CALIFORNIA Posted at 4:59PM on Oct 17th 2006 by ANNA HAND 29. I agree with the natural green tea opinions. Green tea has been proven to boost the metabolic processes because it contains EGCG, a chemical compound found naturally in tea leaves, especially those of green tea. However, brewing your own green tea is not time affective. These are portable and easy access for on the go people. However, they most likely contain a mere dose of what an actual cup of green tea would have. America's weight problem, while being contributed by sedentary lifestyles, is mainly the fault of a nation based on efficiency in food consumption. We no longer cook our meals or snacks from scratch, so we are filled with fatty, sugary substances that do nothing for our bodies but make us store fat. Refined carbohydrates and high sugar intake are the leading cause of obesity, because they are pretty much what America thrives on. My advice? Eat limited amounts of WHOLE grains, cut out the starches, processed sugars and flours and germ-stripped rices and pastas. Add in lean meats, lower fat dairy products and your vegetables and occasionally fruits, and you'll be good to go. Oh yeah, and stay active. And if ya wanna drink this stuff, go ahead. In place of Pepsi or Dr. Pepper, it can only bring good if you don't already drink diet! Posted at 5:13PM on Oct 17th 2006 by Leeann 30. ME, BEING AN ENERGY DRINK LOVER, I AM REALLY LOOKING FORWARD TO THIS ONE. THE ONES I DRINK HAVE OTHER NUTIENTS IN THEM BESIDES CAFFEINE, LIKE TAURINE AND GUARANA, B-VITAMINS,VITAMIN C AND OTHERS. WILL THIS HAVE ANY OTHER ADDED NUTIENTS BESIDE WHAT WAS NOTED IN THE BLOG? I ALWAYS DRINK THE ZERO CARB ONES AND FEEL THESE ARE WAY BETTER THAN A PLAIN, EMPTY NO CALORIE /NO NUTRIENT DIET COKE. I WANT A CASE!! AND I AM NOT OVERWEIGHT EITHER...I JUST LOVE ENERGY!!! Posted at 5:21PM on Oct 17th 2006 by SUSAN E. S. 31. There are so many different opinions aboout this its really confusing, but I agree its just another way to "make a few bucks". Really, you can't lose wieght by drinking this product and saying, "that counts as excersise for the day!" And four cups????? Thats just to make the consumer buy the product, because it won't have any affect on your weight. Also you have GOT to think about how much cafeen you are consuming. In the article it made itlike a good thing, but too much of it can be unhealthy. And what happens when your done using up cafeen from FOUR cups of SOADA. You get tired and drowsy. Now don't get me wrong, but this may be addicting and when a coustomer gets addicted to a so called "healthy product" its much harder to stop. And when you keep buying the product who always wins? The company! I must say that the company did pretty good job of showing this item in a "golden light". I am not saying that this may not help people lose weight, but it may not be as good as it seems. Posted at 5:26PM on Oct 17th 2006 by Geogre (this is fake for privacy) 32. Just another trick to get our money. Better try a food plan that works like few and smaller meals. It took me over a year to lose 45pounds, but I have kept it off. One day at a time...
