Christmas ¡®tis the season for joy and giving.  Unless you are strapped for cash and can¡¯t seem to manage to buy acceptable gifts for everyone on your list without pawning off your TV.  For many people, Christmas would be a lot more enjoyable if it didn¡¯t cost quite so much money every year.  

Most of the time, the people in your household will give you a pretty good idea of what they are looking for long before Christmas and a rough approximation of how much you¡¯ll have to spend to accommodate their wishes.  

Suddenly though, everyone you know seems to be hinting at you that they have already bought you the perfect Christmas gift.  Co-workers, acquaintances, distant family, and friends you don¡¯t see regularly now need a little Holiday surprise from you too.  How will you manage the additional expense without coming across as cheap?

Accessories are perfect informal gifts to give to people because they come in small boxes and look like they could have been expensive but you can actually find them at real bargain prices.  

This year dangly earrings and large broaches are all the rage. Any fashion forward woman on your Christmas list would love to receive either one of these items.  Shop the accessory racks at your local mall.  If you can¡¯t find any cheap bargains there, try a looking in a teenage targeted accessory shop.  Because they are primarily targeting a demographic with limited income, they will usually have cheap prices but the selection is excellent.  

If fashion jewelry doesn¡¯t work for the person on your list, consider buying for them popular winter accessories such as scarves or beanie hats.  These items come in all colors, fabrics, and patterns and they are available for both men and women.  They are flying off the racks at expensive clothing shops, but they can also be found at bargain department stores such as Wal-Mart and Target.  Don¡¯t worry about the quality, even if the majority of the selection at these stores  looks rather cheap, there are bound to be two or three at the very least that look like they are worth $20 or more but will only cost you half that much.  

But not every person appreciates accessories.  For the picky person, or for the one who has everything, give them a gift basket full of goodies.  Give out decadent goody baskets filled with Hand ¨Cmade chocolate truffles and fresh, delicious cookies. 

 If the receiver likes coffee or tea, buy them several exotic¨Csounding flavors of coffee or tea and pack them in a basket.  Complete the gift with a cute (but cheap) drinking mug and a big bow.  This is a gift idea that can¡¯t go wrong.  

If you prefer to give gifts that relate more closely to the season or holiday, consider hand-painting some tree ornaments.  You can pack them into a pretty little box and tie it with a gorgeous bow.  When they open the gift and exclaim at it¡¯s beauty, mention that it was hand-painted just for them by you. The receiver is sure to marvel at your skilled artwork.
