A wedding program provides guests in attendance with information about the ceremony, individuals of the wedding party and introduces the theme of the wedding while creating a lasting keepsake.  Many youngsters with their first crush have pulled the petals off of a daisy reciting the words, ¡°he/she loves me, he/she loves me not.¡±  With this in mind, daisies can be a wonderful flower of choice for the wedding or if a summer, carefree and light-hearted theme is desired.  A wedding program emphasizing the daisy will fit in perfectly.

Wedding programs can be created by a professional printer or on a home computer.  For a small, intimate wedding, hand-written programs may fit the bill.  To highlight the daisy theme, try some of these program ideas:

Print the program wording on translucent vellum paper and overlay it on an enlarged photo of a daisy.  Secure the vellum in place with a white, yellow or green colored ribbon bow.

For a slight twist, cut the translucent vellum paper in a daisy shape, add the wording and overlay on a green background.  Secure the center of the vellum daisy to the green background with a dab of glue.  Glue a small yellow pom-pom to the center of the vellum daisy.

Add flair to a professionally printed program by cutting the flower portion off of silk or plastic daisies.  Glue to the program with crafter¡¯s glue.  Use real daisy flower heads if time and budget allow.

Use rubber stamps in the shape of daisies, a variety of sizes, to decorate each program.  Color the center with yellow marker ¨C a great job for young wedding helpers.  Each program will turn out differently creating a unique and handmade touch.  Add heat embossing powder in gold, found at craft stores, to an ink stamp to create an elegant look without too much cost.  Directly after stamping, sprinkle the powder and heat per the package instructions.

Download a digital photo of the couple in a field of daisies, or making a daisy chain together and use the photo as a background for the program.

Create a large quantity of origami daisies and tuck a few into the program.  A few pieces of paper and instructions included in the program will cement the daisy theme into all guest¡¯s memory.  In addition, the origami daisies can be used to toss at the newly married couple instead of rice or birdseed.

Bake and decorate a small daisy shaped cookie and seal in a transparent bag.  Attach the cookie/bag to the program with green cascading ribbon.

If time or creativity is a premium, simply print up a wedding program and have a family member hand the program to each guest with a single daisy.
