Creative and meaningful wedding anniversary gifts are a challenge to find.  Your siblings＊ anniversaries can be even more challenging.

What do you get for someone that used to embarrass you in front of the neighbors?  How can you tell your best friends (sibling) what a difference their marriage has made in your life through the giving of a gift?

First you want to determine what you need to say.  Do you have a relationship with your sibling that is a series of ※remember when＃?§ discussions? Then you will want to give gifts that evoke great memories.  Do you enjoy your sibling?  You regularly get together to hang out, and your lives mesh as well now as they did when you were kids, spouses included.  Then you will want to give a gift that is given out of friendship that will be based on who they are as a couple. Maybe your relationship is polite, but friendly.  Maybe you share some interests but don＊t spend a lot of time reminiscing or overlapping of your current lives.  Finally, you may have a grown up version of sibling passion.  When things are great, you are great friends, but sometimes sparks fly.

There are several banner anniversaries in a couple＊s life.  The first, fifth, tenth, twentieth, twenty-fifth, fortieth and fiftieth are the most celebrated.

The first anniversary is a celebration of one of the toughest years of marriage.  The meshing of two unique individuals into a functional unit is something worth celebrating. The traditional gift suggestion is paper.  You can be creative and traditional and give a memorable or touching gift to your sibling.  Look at your sibling relationship suggestions first, they may get your creative juices flowing.

Past 每 a scrapbook with special memories noted, or supplies to put one together.

Present 每 tickets to an event that will be meaningful to your sibling and spouse.

Polite 每 a gift certificate to dinner or social occasion.

Passionate 每 a funny or touching book.

The traditional fifth anniversary gift is wood.

Past or passionate 每 a wooden treasure from your relationship that brings back great memories.  Check out flea markets and e-bay.  Make it something that the couple will both enjoy.  A new chess set made out of wood could be something that the couple enjoys as well as something that evokes a memory.

Present or Polite - a wooden picnic basket.  Tickets to a baseball game, and a wooden bat.  A year membership to the state park, and a bundle of kindling, for campfires. A donation in the couple＊s name to Habitat for Humanity or a favorite wildlife or nature organization.  

The tenth anniversary is tin.

Past 每 a movie or music that you enjoyed growing up.  Such as the Wizard of Oz.  A sign with the couple＊s name and children＊s names. Or a nostalgic framed work.

Present 每 a simple trip to somewhere not quite local.  An amusement park or large art fair.  A painting, or art work.  

Polite 每 tickets to the symphony or other music event.   

Passionate - Tickets to auto racing, track and field event, celebrity golf tournament.

China is the traditional gift of the twentieth anniversary.

Past 每 an antique tea set.  

Present or Passionate - an art book, a trip to China, a trinket from an importer, a Chinese meal, a beautiful vase.

Polite 每 A vase or bowl. A modern tea set.  Gift certificate to kitchen store or towards a new set of china.

The twenty-fifth is one of the most celebrated anniversaries.  Called the silver anniversary, there is often a party thrown for the couple.  Consider getting involved in this for the celebration of your sibling＊s marriage.  A great gift for this popular anniversary would be to offer to pay for a session with a photographer.  The whole family can be involved, with the couple having several shots alone.  Find a beautiful silver picture frame for an 8x10 or 5x7 shot.  Or siblings can go in on an engraved silver picture frame. Siblings might also consider sending the couple on a vacation.  Discuss this several months ahead with your family if you would like to celebrate the marriage this way, you will have many details to work out and will need some time to do it.

A card shower is a great thing to organize. Notify friends and family of the couple.  Ask for memories to be mailed to you.  Organize the cards and memories in a large scrapbook.  

The fortieth 每 ruby and fiftieth - gold are banner anniversaries also.  If you threw a party celebrating the twenty-fifth you won＊t want to repeat it for the fortieth unless you are just a party throwing family.  Most people have some sort of celebration for the fiftieth.  Some will celebrate 40 instead, often for health reasons, or the age of the couple involved.

Any suggestions for the twenty-fifth celebration would be appropriate.  Perhaps the couple would prefer having their children brought home for the occasion instead of a trip.  Make sure that you communicate with the couple.
