It seems as though every day new studies about smoking are being done and they are all concluding the same basic idea: smoking is bad for your health. In fact, research shows that it is the number one preventable cause of death in the United States. But anyone who has ever smoked knows that quitting is not as easy as some may think. The average person attempts to quit at least two or three times before they are successful. There¡¯s good reason for this. Cigarettes are very addictive. In fact, for some people nicotine, the addictive chemical found in cigarettes, is more addictive than cocaine or heroin. So if you are attempting to quit for the second or third time, take heart and commend yourself for trying again. If you truly want to quit you will be successful, and the benefits to you and those who you love are numerous.

In fact, there are actually several things that you can do to improve your odds of success.
