To make an adorable snowman Christmas gift bag you will need a small white handle bag, and sheets of black, orange, white, blue, and yellow construction paper. You will also need 6 black buttons, 2 larger black buttons, sparkling white glitter, a small paper punch, 1/8 inch wide holiday ribbon or metallic cord, a fine-tip black marker, thick craft glue, a pencil, and scissors. 

Begin this easy Christmas craft project by drawing and cutting out the pieces to form the face and head of the snowman. Using a pencil, draw the outline of a black top hat that¡¯s about the same width as the gift bag. Draw a band for the top hat on blue construction paper. Make the hatband approximately 1 inch wide. Using yellow construction paper, make a buckle for the hatband. Draw a square buckle approximately 1 inch by 1 inch in diameter. Draw a smaller square in the center of the first square to form the buckle. You also need to make a carrot nose for the snowman. Draw the shape of a carrot on a piece of orange construction paper. Carefully cut out all the parts for the snowman, including the square inside the paper buckle.

Now you can begin gluing the paper pieces to the gift bag. Lay the gift bag flat by carefully folding it on the preformed creases. Start assembling the snowman by gluing on the top hat. Use a moderate amount of thick craft glue to attach the hat to the top of the gift bag just below the handle. Press it firmly in place. Next you will need to glue the hatband to the hat just above the brim. Glue the buckle to the center of the band. Press all the pieces firmly in place. Locate the center front of the gift bag, and glue on the carrot nose at a slight angle. Allow the glue to dry until all the pieces strongly adhere to the bag.  

Now it¡¯s time to bring your holiday snowman to life by gluing on his button eyes. Glue the 2 larger black buttons to the bag just above the carrot nose. Create a big smile for the snowman with the six remaining buttons. Space the buttons evenly, and glue them to the bag about two inches below the carrot nose. Set the bag aside to dry completely before standing it upright. 

While the glue is drying you can make a beautiful Christmas nametag for the gift bag. Quarter fold a 6 inch by 6-inch piece of white construction paper. Use your scissors to cut the blunt edges of the paper into interesting points and curves. Cut out triangles and half circles from the folded edges. Open the paper to reveal a beautiful snowflake. Use a fine-tip black marker to write the name of the gift recipient on the tag. Finish the Christmas tag by gluing on sparkling white glitter. Use your finger to put a thin layer of glue on the entire surface of the snowflake surrounding the name. Sprinkle on the glitter, and shake off any excess over a trashcan. Tie a piece of colored ribbon or metallic cord to the snowflake, and attach it to the handle of the bag. Allow the glue plenty of time to dry before using the bag. 

Line the finished Christmas bag with decorative holiday tissue paper of your choice, and add your special gift to the bag. Include a note in the bag with instructions for making a beautiful Christmas luminary. The note should say, ¡°Make a beautiful lighted Christmas snowman luminary by removing the contents of this bag and placing a votive candle in a glass votive cup. Make sure the bag is fully open, and light the candle.¡± Include a small glass votive cup and scented candle in the bag if you wish. Include an entire set of holiday scented votive candles, a glass votive cup, and a beautiful candle flame extinguisher as the complete holiday gift for your friend or loved one. This unique Christmas gift, complete with a handmade Christmas snowman gift bag, will be cherished for years to come.
