The Dalai Lama is the winner of the 1989 Nobel Prize for Peace, the spiritual leader of Tibetan Buddhists, and, until 1959, the political leader of Tibet. He is also the author of An Open Heart: Practicing Compassion in Everyday Life, My Land and My People, and numerous books on Tibetan Buddhism. |
